Station 3: At this station you will be using the Complete Anatomy application on your iPad to identify structures of the abdomen. There will be two images to work through by filling in tables provided in your practical manual. Once you have completed the answers for the images provided, your instructor may go through these with you and ask you questions if there is time.
Image 1: Structure of the Abdomen [1]: The first image you will work through involves the vessels and features of the supracolic viscera in the abdomen. You previously labeled cadaveric images in your workbooks, and this is an opportunity to see how much you remember from lectures on the abdomen that Dr.Nunn has given you. Try to complete as much of each table as possible without consulting your lecture notes. Once you have done this, review the structures and questions using your lecture notes.
Once you have opened this image, you will see that there are a number of structures labeled Structure 1 – 10 that are to be identified with secondary questions that will also need to be answered.
Try your best to identify the structures and fill in the table provided in your workbook. Note that you may need to tap on each structure label to see the associated tag. You are also able to move the image around using a light touch on the screen. Once you have finished this session, your faculty instructor will quiz you on a number of structures and answer any questions you may have.
Image 2: Structures of the Abdomen [2]: For the second image, click on the associated button to access this image. Again, you will fill in the table provided in your laboratory manual. Your instructor will also be available to answer any questions you may have regarding this image. If the instructor does not have time to go through this second image with you during the session, then it is up to you to seek out a faculty member if you have any questions about the labelling.
